Want to improve your health while also restoring the Earth’s health?
Go Vegan!
We want to prevent disease, improve health, and enhance food justice through a plant-based food system.
OUR MISSION
At Health Save India, we educate people about the health benefits of a plant-based vegan diet. Numerous studies and scientists support the fact that a plant-based diet is one of the healthiest diets one can adopt. Plant-based nutrition even has the potential to reverse and prevent several cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes, and in some cases, few types of cancer too.
Veganism is not only essential for health of the planet but also for a healthy mind and body. The dairy, meat, and egg industries have perpetuated false facts about the necessity of including animal-derived products in our diet. We try to refute or challenge those beliefs through science-backed facts and testimonials from people who have personally experienced the health benefits of going vegan.
WHAT WE DO
OUR EFFORTS
FOOD TASTING
We make unexpecting people taste vegan food and beverages - those that closely resemble the taste and texture of non-vegan foods. The motive behind this is to convince them that on a vegan diet they can derive the same sensory pleasure from food as they do on a non-vegan diet. We also regularly host potlucks where people bring home-made vegan food and share it with the group.
FOOD DISTRIBUTION
While food distribution drives for the underprivileged are something a lot of NGOs do, we focus on distributing healthy, tasty, and affordable vegan food on festive occasions such as Diwali and Eid.
SEMINARS/WEBINARS
We conduct webinars with plant-based nutritionists who can explain the science and benefits of plant-based nutrition. These webinars are attended by vegans, transitioning vegans, as well as non-vegans. Each talk ends with a Q&A session where people can get their queries answered.
RESOURCE SHARING
To help people seamlessly transition to veganism, we have created a guide called the Vegan Starter Kit. It contains information about all different nutrients and where to get them on a plant-based diet. The Vegan Start Kit also has a weekly meal plan so that you don’t have to scramble for vegan options every day. It includes recipes of plant based milk, cheese, and vegan biryani as well! You can download it from our ‘Resources’ page.
